Η αλήθεια είναι πως όταν οι Αγγλοι είναι να βγάλουν χωλή, μωρε τη βγάζουν και σε σφάζουν με το βαμβάκι...

Η ουσία παιδιά είναι ότι παρα το γεγονός ότι είμαι εκνευριστικά διεθνιστής, απο κάποιο σημείο και μετάδεν μπορώ να με φτύνει ο άλλος και να του λέω μπράβο. Λέμε πχ. για την κατάσταση στην Αθήνα. Εγώ έχω να πώ για πολλά παιδιά που πήγαν Αγγλία να σπουδάσουν και βρέθηκαν όχι στα Εξάρχεια με γκαζάκια αλλά στη λάθος πλευρά της πόλης και εκέι προφανώς είδαν την άλλη όψη της Αγγλίας.

Πρός Θεού, εγώ έκανα τα μεταπτυχιακά μου προ πολλών ετών στο 'Εξετερ, καμμια σχέση. Απλά καλό είναι να γνωρίζουμε πως υπάρχουν περιοχές στη Βρετανία (και στη Γαλλία, και στη Γερμανία) όπου τα πράγματα είναι άσχημα. Γι' αυτό είμαι και σκεπτικιστής σχετικά με το πού το πάνε. Γιατί εντάξει, το ξέρουμε ποιοί είμαστε, αλλα αυτό το γαϊτανάκι με την τρομοκρατία και τις λοιπές ανοησίες τη στιγμή (που το έχω ξαναγράψει κιόλας) που ολόκληρη 17 Ν έφαγε σε 25 χρόνια το 1/3 απο αυτούς που έφαγε με μια βόμβα ο Timothy McVie στην Οκλαχόμα, κάτι μου λέει.

Α, ρε γ@μ@το να μην είχαμε τους ηγέτες που είχαμε τόσα χρόνια... στον Αρη θα είχαμε φτάσει...

Τα είχαμε πεί και άλλη φορά. Καλή κουβέντα δεν θα ακούσουμε μέχρι τους αγώνες. Μετά απο αυτούς βέβαια και κυρίως από του χρόνου θα αρχίσει η απόσβεση των αγώνων καθώς όλοι θα έχουν κατόπιν εορτής καταλάβει τί συνέβει το καλοκαίρι του 2004 στην Αθήνα.

Υ.Γ. Πάντως χθές το απόγευμα κατά τις 19.00 άκουσα ανταπόκριση ενός γερμανόφωνου στα αγγλικά και οι κουβέντες που διέκρινα από αυτά τα γερμανοαγγλικά ήταν.

OK - can someone tell me who the bitch was with the greasy curly short black hair was who was smoking??? She exemplified everything that is disgusting about Greece...but what shocked us the most is that she insulted the Greek Americans and generally ALL THE DIASPORA telling the audience that they were NOT "apodimi ellines" and that they have no right to represent Greece in the baseball, a sport that is not popular in Greece, if not totally unknown. To me, with her attiitudinal problems she exemplified the difference between the East and the West. She is appaling whoever she is - a real TRITOKOSMIKARA. It all saddened us because the diaspora is a constant source of support for Greece; you will find this throughout the world, especially now pou ta xena MME sas xezoun.

On the same program though with respect to another topic, Venizelos got on lying to the Greek people and everyone else and tried to say that Sydney was approximately at a similar level of readiness 100 days proir to the commencement of the Games in 2000!!!! Sydney exemplified operational and organisational excellence, testament to which is how many contracts it has been awarded by the perfectionist Chinese. Who is he trying to kid with regard to his organisational and fiscal incompetence (billions over budget and the corrupt enrichment of small to medium sized Greek companies). Who does he think he is kidding?This is the man who's ministry of Culture will not have the Parthenon ready, the major museums won't be ready, the man who has caused the English to laugh at us with regardto our arguments for the Restitution of the Parthenon Marbles, who couldn't get the NEw Acropolis Museum off the ground nor the proposed new museum of modern art with that priceless exhibition.

It dosent matter - we're used to it all. Nevertheless we will be there in Athens in August - for Hellas and for us as Hellenes.
It will be a magnificent Olympics - we cannot wait.

Αισιόδοξος για την επιτυχία των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων εμφανίστηκε ο Ντένις Όσβαλντ μετά τη σύσκεψη εργασίας που είχε με την πρόεδρο της Οργανωτικής Επιτροπής «Αθήνα 2004» Γιάννα Αγγελοπούλου και τη Φάνη Πάλλη-Πετραλιά στο υπουργείο Πολιτισμού. «Βγαίνουμε νικητές στον αγώνα με το χρόνο» υπογράμμισε η αναπληρώτρια υπουργός Πολιτισμού.

«Είχαμε μια πολύ καλή συνάντηση, που ενίσχυσε την εμπιστοσύνη μας για επιτυχείς Αγώνες στην Αθήνα. Είμαι πολύ αισιόδοξος» τόνισε χαρακτηριστικά ο πρόεδρος της Συντονιστικής Επιτροπής της ΔΟΕ, εκφράζοντας παράλληλα την ικανοποίησή του για το γεγονός ότι πήρε απαντήσεις σε όλα τα ερωτήματα που έθεσε.

Από την πλευρά της η κ. Πετραλιά υπογράμμισε ότι «στο δύσκολο αγώνα δρόμου με το χρόνο βγαίνουμε νικητές. Τα περισσότερα έργα βρίσκονται στην τελική τους φάση, ενώ αρχιτεκτονική σφραγίδα είναι το στέγαστρο Καλατράβα». Χαρακτήρισε δε «εποικοδομητική» τη συνάντηση στο υπουργείο Πολιτισμού.

Σχετικά με την κριτική που ασκείται στην Αθήνα από διεθνή μέσα ενημέρωσης, η κ. Πετραλιά τόνισε χαρακτηριστικά: «Η ΔΟΕ έχει πει ότι έχει απόλυτη εμπιστοσύνη στην Αθήνα. Η καλύτερη απάντηση που δώσαμε στη διεθνή κοινότητα ήταν η ολίσθηση του στεγάστρου Καλατράβα».
